If there’s one thing the Escentual team loves, it’s beauty. But, as we get to see and try so much of it, we’re not so good at finishing products; this means that when we do get all the way to the end of a beauty product it must be pretty damn good! We’re paying tribute to our favourite used-up beauty buys from January in this month’s empties edit. 1. The Calming Mist

Product pick: Tisserand Aromatherapy Total De-Stress MoodFix Mist
Why did you buy this product?
I am obsessed with Tisserand as a brand and this MoodFix mist happens to be from one of my favourite collections: the Total De-Stress range. I love this mist so much, I spray the mist on my pillow every night before I go to sleep, without fail, and can’t be without it.
What did you love about this product?
I find the blend of geranium, orange and nutmeg soothes away all my worries from the day and helps me have a relaxing sleep. When I lean into my pillow, the soft scent calms me down while I take a moment to breathe in. My feelings of anxiety and being overwhelmed seem to melt away; everyone needs one of these mists!
Will you be repurchasing it?
I definitely will be repurchasing as I cannot live without it.
What will you do with the empty?
I will recycle the bits that I can!
2. The Vegan Retinol

Product Pick: REN Bio Retinoid Youth Serum
Why did you buy this product?
I wanted to buy retinol skincare but I was looking for a vegan alternative that’s also sustainable and the REN Bio Retinoid Youth Serum fit the bill – so I bought it!
What did you love about this product?
After every application, my skin feels so smooth and soft – and the amazing scent is an added bonus! Also, it is suitable for sensitive skin (which I have), it’s vegan, and has a fully recyclable glass bottle. On top of that, the pump is created from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and the cardboard packaging is sustainably made; this retinol can do no wrong!
Will you be repurchasing it?
Definitely! I also want to try the rest of the products from the REN Bio Retinoid range; the REN Bio Retinoid Youth Cream and the REN Bio Retinoid Youth Concentrate Oil.
What will you do with the empty?
Recycle all the parts that I can!
3. The Luxe Setting Spray

Product pick: GUERLAIN Parure Gold Setting Mist
Why did you buy this product?
It’s no secret that I’m in love with Guerlain’s Parure Gold collection. I already wear the foundation that contains 24-carat flecks, and a premium foundation like that requires an equally as luxe fixing spray to set it with, so naturally, I had to buy the Parure Gold Setting Mist too.
What did you love about this product?
What I love most about this setting spray is how finely it spritzes the mist over your makeup; there’s none of that droplet finish associated with some of the best-selling setting sprays. Everything about this setting mist feels luxurious; from its gorgeous gold packaging down to its fruity-floral scent of peach, jasmine, and white musk. But if I was to be totally honest, I can’t say that a part of me knows I purchased it so I could stand my golden foundation side by side with this mist on my dresser – it’s beautiful!
Will you be repurchasing it?
I have a lot of other setting sprays to use up, but when they run out, this will definitely be one I consider getting again.

Recycle the bits that are recyclable.
4. The Energising Body Oil

Why did you buy this product?
I’ve been suffering from back pain for a while, so I’m usually begging my partner for a shoulder massage every month! I’ve always loved the way Tisserand expertly blend natural oils to elicit emotions and feelings, so when I saw the Tisserand Aromatherapy Energy Massage Oil on offer on Escentual, I just had to give it a go.
What did you love about this product?
Created using 100% pure essential oils, the Tisserand Energy Boost Body Oil projects an energising fruity scent of orange, lime and grapefruit. It’s an excellent choice for tired minds and bodies, awakening the senses to leave you feeling brand new; plus, it’s vegan too!
Will you be repurchasing it?
Although I would buy this again in a heartbeat, I’m looking forward to trying other body oils in the Tisserand collection. Next on my list is the Sleep Better and the Total De-Stress massage oils.
For anyone looking for Valentine’s gift, any of the Tisserand Body Oils would be a luxurious surprise, especially if they come with a back massage.
