Beauty Empties: Meet The Products We Finished
Share
Finishing your favourite beauty product is both a sad and joyful moment because you know something good has come to an end, but you also have permission to buy something new!
In this month’s empties edit, Team Escentual are paying tribute to their crumpled, battered and chopped up beauty empties… But what do the teams that get to try every beauty launch actually use up? You’ll see a wide variety of beauty empties – from premium concealers, golden serums to eye care and so much more…
1. The Multipurpose Healing Balm
Name: Ceryn, Communications & Campaigns Editor
Product Pick: Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm
Why did you buy this product? Aquaphor is one of my must-haves. I’ve bought it time and time again. The reason why is simple; my skin is always dry, and this is a cult product for nourishing chapped, flaky skin; plus, it provides a semi-occlusive barrier that helps skin to heal.
What did you love about this product? It’s a wonderful product for dry patches and dry lips. Whenever my skin feels tight or raw, I reach for this balm, and it instantly looks and feels better. It’s also multi-purpose; rumour has it that Meghan Markle’s makeup artist used it as a highlighter on her wedding day, which is another trick I make full use of on days I’d like a dewy glow.
Will you be repurchasing it? (Or do you have your eye on something else next?) I think this will be my fourth repurchase. But, in truth, I’ve lost count!
What will you do with the empty? Recycle it.
2. The Eye-Brightening Concealer
Name: Keavy, Communications and Campaigns Assistant
Product Pick: The DIOR Diorskin Forever Skin Correct in shade 0.5
Why did you buy this product? I’ve always had pronounced dark circles around my eye area; that’s why I usually opt for a brightening full coverage concealer that’s light enough for use under the eyes. Even though I look for a full coverage finish, I don’t want a concealer that’s going to be heavy or that requires a lot of rubbing and tugging to remove as the under-eye area is delicate and prone to early signs of premature ageing (you see my problem!)
What did you love about this product? The Diorskin Forever Skin Correct is just that: my ‘forever’ concealer. Its lightweight and creamy formula also moisturises, making it perfect for use under the eye, thanks to its fresh luminous finish. What’s more, its buildable formula can also be used all over the face for those days when you want your makeup to be pared back but still look flawless.
Will you be repurchasing it (or do you have your eye on something else next?) Yes, of course, I’ll be repurchasing it!
What will you do with the empty? Recycle it.
3. The Glow Serum
Product Pick: Antipodes Glow Ritual Vitamin C Serum With Plant Hyaluronic Acid
Why did you buy this product? Lately, I’ve felt that my skin looked a bit dull and I was in need of a glow boost. So, when Antipodes launched the Glow Ritual Serum, I had to try it!
What did you love about this product? There are so many things to love about the newest Antipodes launch, but what made it truly special is its sparkling gold formula! The fact that it’s 100% natural, eco-friendly, smells amazing and makes my skin super glowy after only a few uses were just added bonuses!
Will you be repurchasing it (or do you have your eye on something else next?) Yes! I think I’m also going to buy the Antipodes Kiwi Seed Gold Luminous Eye next, which is part of the same range.
What will you do with the empty? As this tube is plastic, I’ll be rinsing it out and popping it in my recycling bin.
4. The Iconic Eye Serum
Product Pick: Clarins Double Serum Eye Global Age Control Concentrate
Why did you buy this product? I was a part of a Clarins Double Serum Eye trial for 7 days to review the product, formula and results.
What did you love about this product? The formula, scent, application, texture, results…so pretty much EVERYTHING! My skin is a lot more radiant under the eyes and it’s definitely minimised my dark circles, which was my main concern. Clarins Double Serum Eye is also very easy to use by adjusting the dial according to the desired amount of product. I’d highly recommend it to anyone aged 25 and over.
Will you be repurchasing it (or do you have your eye on something else next?) Yes, definitely. This is now my go-to eye product; I would be lost without it.
What will you do with the empty? I will recycle the bits that I can!
