A Guide to A-Derma

We hope you are all enjoying the French Pharmacy promotion here at Escentual! We’ve got some great products at lovely prices and I’ve been trying out some A-Derma favourites to see if I can finally find a skin care range that I’ll stick to.
A-Derma Sensifluid Cleansing Lotion
I’m a fickle person when it comes to cleansing my skin and I’m always on the lookout for the new best thing, something that’ll cure me of my (nonexistent) problem skin to make me beautiful and have no blemishes or flaws. Sadly I haven’t found this magical elixir yet so I have to make do with a slightly uneven skin tone and the occasional blemish. I’ve found that when I use milkier cleansers that don’t require washing off, I feel guilty that I haven’t given my face a proper scrub and if I use a face wash which requires water then I think maybe my skin needs a rest. It’s a vicious cycle which I finally seem to have broken with this little gem of a product! The A-Derma Sensifluid Cleansing Lotion is a lovely all round cleanser as it’s formulated for extra sensitive and atopic skin so it’s soft on your skin, without losing any of the essential cleansing properties. I’ve used it morning and evening by dispensing a small amount in to the palm of my hands and smoothing on to my skin. Let it sink in for around 30 seconds and wipe off any excess with a cotton pad. 3 weeks into using this product I am very happy indeed! Although it hasn’t been a miracle worker and eliminated the imperfections I already have, I haven’t had any breakouts and it has made my sometimes temperamental skin softer and more manageable.
A-Derma Exomega Shower Cleansing Oil
Now if there’s one thing I love about shower oils and gels, it’s the vast array of different scents you can get. You can come out of a shower smelling like you’ve just been launched into a pool of coconut water or smothered all of the strawberries in the world on yourself! This is great if you have normal skin but if it’s in any way sensitive, the ingredients that go into some shower gels can have a detrimental effect on your skin. Skin can become irritated, dry and itchy, so if you have sensitive skin it’s worth sticking to a milder formulation to cleanse. I can recommend nothing better than the A-Derma Exomega Shower Cleansing Oil, a light formula that coats the skin with moisture whilst cleansing it gently. It’s packed full of lovely ingredients that make your skin feel wonderful and a faint but pleasant smell, nothing too offensive to the nose!
Now as I mentioned, I love shower gels and the way they foam and coat the skin in bubbles, however this item didn’t do that. It doesn’t work like a gel or mousse, so there is little to no lather. Don’t get me wrong though I loved it in spite of this because it cleanses wonderfully and I came out of the shower with skin that was refreshed and silky soft.
A-Derma Exomega Emollient Cream with Oat Milk & Omega
Once again, those with a keen eye will already know that I am a convert to the A-Derma Exomega Emollient Cream with Oat Milk and Omega (check out my tattoo post here) and sing its praises highly. This product has gained a bit of a cult following and its fans swear by it, me included! It’s a fantastic product and is the standout item in the A-Derma range for me, it’s a multi-purpose and gentle formula that helps to alleviate the symptoms associated with dry skin and also moisturise thoroughly. Those with a brain that understands science will know all about the lovely ingredients they pack in to this stuff to make it really effective (Rhealba oat extract, polyphenols, Filaxerine, Omega 6 fatty acids and Vitamin B3) but to me who doesn’t understand such things, it sounds impressive! With a lot of products nowawdays scientific jargon is banded about with no proven efficacy, but not with this product. It’s popularity and longevity count for something and people wouldn’t keep buying it if it didn’t work for them in some way. I use it all year round for specific needs, sometimes it’s a new tattoo and other times it’s just a bit of dry skin in the winter and it’s never ever let me down. Even if dry skin isn’t really a massive concern for you, it’s great for every-day use so give it a try!
