Just when you thought you couldn’t get a better year of beauty, 2018 turns up and blows it out of the park!
This year, we’ve seen new launches become instant cult favourites, and low maintenance beauty routines become a strong trend that we all want to follow. But most importantly, we’ve seen that the push for diversity in all beauty campaigns is becoming more crucial than ever and we’re super stoked with that.
But what else was special? Here Chelsey & Ceryn talk you through which new launches have made it into their yearly favourites for 2018!

Vichy LiftActiv Micro Hyalu Patches
If you’re reading this and you’re fed up with trying to conceal the bags and wrinkles under your eyes, you seriously need the Vichy Lift Activ Hyalu Patches in your beauty drawer, I swear by them!
For those that are new to micro-needling, this treatment is what the Vichy eye patches are inspired by! Their sticky patches have teeny tiny teeth are packed with 100% pure hydrolysed hyaluronic acid to stimulate your eye area’s collagen production while you sleep for smooth, soft and bright results by morning. I can 100% confirm these worked for me, and they’re well worth the investment – they’re now the monthly treat that I can’t live without (I fell in love with them back in October) and neither should you!

bareMinerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral
Embracing the less is more trend has been a big goal for me this year, especially when it comes to my morning makeup routine. Starting small, I reduced my everyday eyeshadow palette down from 35 colours to just 6 (that’s a massive step for me) and let’s just say, I have a lot more time on my hands, thanks to the gorgeous Gen Nude palette.
Natural is my favourite colour way; I love it so much that Ceryn even bought me one for my birthday! Chic, simple to navigate and super impressive on the eyes, this palette makes me look polished in minutes, plus its handy instructions and travel-friendly size make it, dare I say it, my most favourite palette I’ve ever used!

AURA by name, AURA by nature, both the Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette fragrances leave the sexiest, sleekest trail of all the hundreds of new scents I’ve been lucky enough to try this year! Just like all of the other MUGLER fragrances, AURA has a bittersweet edge that is distinctively unique; but what’s different about AURA is its leafy, botanical edge that flourishes with nods of rhubarb and medicinal facets of tiger liana, which is an exclusive note. If you get the chance, make sure you smell both strengths. The Eau de Parfum was made for those who like to make a statement (you can get a real feel for what the scent smells like here), while the EDT plays on the ripeness of rhubarb for a fresher, lighter feel.

Nuxe Aquabella Micro-Exfoliating Purifying Gel
The Aquabella Micro-Exfoliating Purifying Gel first featured in my February 2018 Beauty Team Favourites; that was ten months ago, and it’s still taking pride of place on my bathroom shelf! That in itself speaks volumes because I’m always being introduced to new skincare that claims to be ‘the next best thing’, so when a product sticks around that can only mean one thing: it’s good… really good!
Why I adore this cleanser/exfoliator hybrid is pretty simple: it keeps my combination skin clear and even and never tight or dry. I also love that there are tiny blue botanical micro beads inside the soothing gel formula, which gently (so delicate you can barely feel them) buff the surface of the skin so that my complexion gets a daily radiance boost. Yes, you read that correctly, you can use this exfoliator every day; that’s another reason I’m obsessed with it because there’s nothing I love more than my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed and fresh. Here’s to another ten months, Aquabella! Read the full range review here.

Benefit Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation SPF15
It was love at first blend for Hello Happy Foundation and me. But that wasn’t a shock; it’s as if Benefit made it just for me (a girl can dream!). My foundation wish-list matches up almost entirely to Hello Happy’s claims: radiance-boosting, decent coverage that’s not cakey, blurring and light-to-medium coverage that’s buildable. Benefit hit the nail on the head for me with this launch, so there was no way it couldn’t make this list – it’s my dream foundation!
The lightweight formula isn’t too liquid or too thick; it’s the perfect creamy texture that buffs beautifully into the skin to cover imperfections and redness, without masking the skin one bit. It’s as if this base puts an Instagram filter over your complexion, nothing too glam or overdone but instead just fresh and flawless. Whether I’m having a bad skin day or a great skin day I always reach for this, it’s a great all-rounder. You can see the Hello Happy swatches and read my full thoughts on it here.

Giorgio Armani Si Nacre Edition Eau de Parfum Spray
I own a lot of perfume. A lot more than I should and probably a lot more than one person can wear, but that’s because I love to adorn a different fragrance every day. With that being said there are a few sacred scents in my stash that I reach for time and time again, and Giorgio Armani Si is one of those!
This year, it’s the limited edition bottle infused with golden shimmer that’s my go-to. Just when I thought Si couldn’t get any more luxurious or elegant, they added gold glitter to it! The chypre scent is just as dreamy for this edition, bringing together blackcurrant and rose de mai absolute with patchouli and oakmoss. It’s bright and feminine with a sweetness that’s not at all overpowering. The sparkle inside is the perfect metaphor for just how mesmerising this Eau is.
